Currency Converter

The Thai Baht is a fairly strong and stable currency only fluctating when there is serious financial or political instability in the country with the latter having a lesser effect than the former. Credit cards and debit cards can only be used in the larger hotels and shopping malls so that Thailand still relies largely on a cash economy - under no circumstances should birders venturing off the beaten track think that will be able to get by with a credit card - you will not.

Cash machines from Thailand's leading banks are widely available, however, and birders are not normally too far away from one at a fuel station or large village. Birders should carry cash on them at all times to ensure that payment for hotels, food and drink etc can be made. This currency converter can be used to calculate the value of the Thai Baht to whatever currency you are used to using.
