Thailand Bird Checklists

Bird Watching Trips:
If you need help organizing a bird watching trip to Thailand, take a look at the suggested itineraries for ideas on creating a tailor-made trip and contact me for advice: Thailand bird tours.

All of the bird checklists featured on this website have been compiled from my personal records and include species that I know that other reliable observers have recorded from the sites concerned. Species that are of doubtful occurence, or are known from records that are yet to be confirmed by the Thai records committe have been avoided.

As I update these checklists the species will be listed as in the taxonomic order used in the Birds of Thailand published by Lynx Edicions in 2018 and I will keep this order at least until there is a reprint of this excellent field guide. Keeping the checklists up-to-date with current taxanomic order is far too time-consuming given the rate at which the taxonomic orders are revised by various authorities.

The checklists can be read straight from the website but they are also available to download in a printable PDF format, with check boxes for ticking what you see on your birding trip in Thailand, for a small fee.

I have done my best to compile checklists that are as complete as I can possibly make them referring to records reported online via various media, with particular reference to records I consider reliable on eBird.

There are undoubtedly species to add to these lists and I would welcome any new sightings so that I can continue to offer them in an as up-to-date format as possible: nickupton@thaibirding.com

Please remember that all of the checklists on this site should be regarded as unofficial; they are included as a guide to bird watchers.
