Airport
Departure Tax now Included in Ticket Price
Quite
some time ago the airport departure tax became included in the ticket
price for flights from Thailand, so that there is now no need to
obtain the tax slip from a booth at the airport.
Airports
of Thailand Plc (AOT) recently announced that both international and
domestic departure taxes would increase with effect from February
1st 2007 at the new Suvarnabhumi Airport which opens on 28th September
2006. On opening, the taxes will be the same as at Don Muang airport;
50 baht for domestic departures and 500 baht for international departures,
but rise to 100 baht for domestic and 700 baht for international.
Additionally, landing fees will be 15% higher than at Don Muang which
may well be passed on to passengers in their ticket prices. Visitors
to Thailand should be aware of these increases when using the new
Suvarnabhumi Airport.
